“Love Thy Neighbor…” As Long As They Are Caucasian????

As we handed over the keys, the couple was overcome with excitement. You see, this was their first home purchase “on their own”, and outside of their hometown. They were on cloud nine.

Well, they were for a week anyway. One of the neighbors dropped off the neighborhood covenants for the new home owners to review [copy enclosed]

1] All lots shall be owned and occupied exclusively by members of the Caucasian Race for residential purposes only, except this covenant shall not prevent occupancy by domestic servants exclusively of owner or tenant.

You guessed it, the home owners are not of Caucasian Race

We [Mississippi] have a lot of work to do, but we are growing every day

I understand that one individual’s prejudice does not define an entire state’s character or values. It’s crucial to remember that a state is made up of millions, each with their own unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Generalizing the sentiments of one person, to an entire population, is an oversimplification that overlooks the diversity and richness of the collective
